Bar 500 |
|
| Cortona centre - via nazionale |
|
About halfway down Via Nazionale in beautiful Cortona is a gem of a place that is a perfect stop in between shopping or site seeing. You can either go inside and enjoy the ambience or sit outside and watch the world go by. Whenever you are in Cortona, Bar 500 is one of our required stops. The owners, Rob and Emma always make you feel welcome and the service is superb.
By the way they have wonderful food and are quick to give you a variety of little munchies to enjoy while drinking a legal beverage. I would recommend while you are in cortona, stop by Bar 500.

Badia a Colitbuono : 91 Km from La Mucchia |
|
| Loc. Badia a Coltibuono |
|
fantastic, is the way to describe this magnificent restaurant. It is one of the great restaurants of tuscany.the village of Badia a Coltibuono dates from the eleventh century. In 1051 the monks of the Vallombrosan Order founded the Abbey and also began planting the first vineyards in the Upper Chianti area. It is a peaceful, untouched spot, bounded by mountains and the abbey’s farm. There is no fix menu, it changes based on what is in season, and the ingredients come from the farm. They produce their own Chianti wine and also olive oil. The ricotta is handmade, ravioli with a pumpkin and rosemary volute was delicious. Also the fresh goat and sheep cheeses were truly amazing.
The restaurant:
Retrieved from old stables and renovated with contemporary style restaurant offers an elegant, warm and cosy, nestled in a romantic garden embellished by an infinite landscape.
In summer you can eat outdoors under an arbour of wisteria and roses. Here the gourmet can taste the true flavours and scents of the earth Chianti. Tuscan recipes farm revisited with a touch of originality.
Simple seasonal ingredients enhanced by a careful use of herbs and vegetables. Fresh pasta made by hand with organic flour, meat typical as rabbit, lamb, poultry and extraordinary steak. Goat cheese and sheep locally produced and homemade cakes to close the meal in sweetness. To complete the winery offers wines of Badia a Coltibuono and best productions in Tuscany, with a attention to other Italian labels.
You exit our gates to the right go to the Valdichiana A1 Exit take direction Firenze, get off at Montevarcchi continue to Cavriglia on the SS408 till Montegrossi and from there it is close to Badia.
