Cells of the capuchins cortona

First evidences about this hermitage of Saint Francis of Assisi are noted in 1211. “Le Celle” or The cells, refer to the tiny caves craved in the mountain to create lodgings to the Franciscan Friars. Entering the hermitage you can see on your right hand side Saint Francis’ cell, which was kept and sealed after his death. There is also the church dedicated to Saint Anthonio da Padova (Padua).

You will admire, during winter and spring time the waterfall in front of the convent, which today belongs to the Capuchin Friars, and during summer time the gardens and forest around it.
