L’escursionismo, is a journey made for pleasure, commonly involving a group of people.
The English translation, excursion ism refers to a term like outings also, including more specific descriptions such as: Trekking to make a slow or arduous journey for personal fulfillment, this term is also used in Italian. Or hiking: to go on a long walk usually for exercise or pleasure.
TUIT holiday excursions are based on physical activities, such as hiking in designated areas which can include roads, off-road paths or trails. Complementing these excursions with gear that will provide desired situations and appropriate distances to be covered. Some examples are: by horse, canoe, mountain bike, alpine ski (downhill) or CX skiing (cross country). This variety of equipment choice allows for a personalized experience and a more satisfying outcome.
Generally, the excursion takes place in the mountains or in other natural environments, the journey may include naturalistic activities such as: birdwatching, observing botanical species and visiting monuments, natural wonders or phenomena of special interest.
The seriously motivated excursionist will be expected to express the highest respect for nature and the surrounding flora and fauna.
By remaining very quiet at all times, avoiding unnecessary noises, for it is best to observe nature in silence.
It is prohibited to physically interfere with, touch or feed wild animals, nor is it permitted to collect protected botanical species. It is inappropriate to disturb or degrade the environment including sign posts or to leave trash about, which should be taken to the nearest bin or better still carried out of the area with the person or group. Fires are allocated to their restricted area, with utmost consideration for safety and never left unattended, while being properly extinguished prior to departure.
Please, do not act neglectful with a lit cigarette and ashes, always collect and dispose the butts, properly.
